VANDALIA—The 5th Annual Vandalia Police Trunk or Treat was overflowing with activity Saturday evening Oct. 27 at the Vandalia Area Fairgrounds.
The Vandalia Police Department, Van-Far Ambulance, Vandalia Fire Department, local businesses, surrounding agencies, and organizations gathered together to pass out treats to the lines of children that kept coming throughout the evening.
The lines for the hay ride filled up fast each time the tractor would pull back up to the side of the haunted house.
Once the hay ride was loaded, it would pull away and go off into the sunset only to return after an expedition into the unknown.
There were always long lines to get into the haunted house. It featured several not-so -funny clowns this year. Some of the clowns took to the chopping block, and another would greet visitors soon after they entered with a calm and haunting conversation from her dark corner, which lead to a coffin that was occupied with one of the living dead.
There were other spooks throughout the haunted house; however before exiting, an unexpected Zoe Gibson would pop up for a fright to remember.
