The East Central Drug Task Force arrested two Vandalia residents for methamphetamine possession and other drug related offenses, according to a probable cause statement from the force.
On July 19, Captain James Shrader of the Audrain County Sheriff’s Department with the Vandalia Police Department arrested Jay C. Ikemeier, 40, and Teresa K. Summers, 40, at 510 E. Highway 54 in Vandalia.
According to the statement, the task force found Ikemeier in possession of a white crystal substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.
The statement notes finding an additional amount of methamphetamine, a small quantity of marijuana, 13 pills identified as Xanax, 12 pills identified as Vicodin, a pipe containing marijuana residue, and glass pipes containing methamphetamine residue within the resident.
The drugs and paraphernalia were reportably accessible to minors residing at the home.
One male minor present during the execution of the search warrant said he had smelled marijuana in the past while at the residence.
Both Ikemeier and Summers admitted to using methamphetamine prior to the arrival of the police.
Ikemeier and Summers are being held on $10,000 bond.
