Susie Ilene Tucker, age 89, of Bowling Green passed away April 9, 2015 at the Country View Nursing Home in Bowling Green.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Monday, April 13 at the Morning Star Fellowship Church in Bowling Green. Interment was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bowling Green. Visitation was from 9 a.m to 11 a.m. Monday, April 13 at the Morning Star Fellowship Church.
Susie was born Jan. 18, 1926, the daughter of John A. and Edith Irene Sayre Ragan in Monroe City. She was married several times, including Francis Durham, Oliver K. Graves Sr., Henry Podlesko, and Lester Tucker, who all have preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons Oliver Graves and wife Patty of Curryville, Kenneth (Bud) Durham and friend Kaye Crenshaw of Bowling Green, and Lyndell Graves of Greensburg, Ky.; two daughters Marjorie (Marge) Angel and husband Harold of Bellflower and Susie Brown and husband Ron of Olney, Ill.; many grand and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son in infancy, Eugene; and a daughter, Ilene Winterhalter.
Susie grew up in rural Curryville and lived most of her life in Bowling Green with the exception of a few years in Jacksonville, Ill. She had worked as a nurse’s aide at Maple Grove Lodge, a homemaker taking care of her children, and also a caregiver to her parents before they passed away. Susie enjoyed sewing, crotcheting, reading, gardening, and most of all spending time with her family.
Serving as pallbearers were Steven Graves, Mark Graves, Joe Resor, Kyle Durham, Ronnie Brown, and Roger Preston.
