Students honored at Van-Far concert

Van-Far band and choral students entertained a crowd during their “End of the Year Concert” held on Thursday, May 11.
During the event, a few students were recognized with prestigious awards. Warren Kraft received the John Phillip Sousa Award, Cody Swarthout was given the Directors Award, and Sarah Motley was the recipient of the Bertram Cowley Memorial Scholarship.

Performances
The High School Choir opened with “Traveling Day.” They also performed “Little Bird, Little Bird” and “Winter Feels the Sword of Spring.”
The Junior High Choir followed with “Sing a Joyful Song,” “I Swear,” and “Carriers of the Light.”
The Junior High School band performed “The Forge of Vulcan” and “The North Face.”
Van-Far’s High School band followed with “As Summer Was Just Beginning” and “Into the Storm.”
The bands then combined to play “Star Trek: Through the Years.”
