On Sunday, May 9, at approximately 3:19 a.m., a Mexico Public Safety officer observed a blue 2003 Ford Explorer being operated erratically in the area of Clark and Boulevard.
According to a statement by the Mexico Public Safety, “When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver attempted to avoid the officer and drove several blocks to the northwest before leaving the roadway and striking a tree stump in the 400 block of Clay Street. The driver then ran from the scene.”
Mexico police say the vehicle was stolen from the 700 block of South Jefferson Street sometime during the previous half hour. The suspect is described as a tall, slim black male with a goatee.
