Opening Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Catholic Schools Week was celebrated last week by the St. Joseph Catholic School in Martinsburg.
The week started by celebrating Mass together on Sunday, January 29, followed by enjoying donuts in St. Joseph School.
On Monday, students who will attend Kindergarten in the 2017-2018 school year were invited to a “Taste of Kindergarten” with Mrs. Struck’s Kindergarten class and a hot meal was served for the students, staff, and volunteers.
Monday was also “Dress Like a Story Book Character” day.  On Tuesday, Jody Dishman from Angel Wings in Mexico, and Sergeant Morice from the K-9 Unit spoke to the students and each class dressed in a designated color.
Throughout the week, products were collected to share with Catholic Charities Queen of Peace Center and Angel Wings.
Wednesday was Western Day and Father Joseph Abah shared his experience of being raised in Nigeria and becoming a Priest with the students.
Thursday was a field trip to St. Louis to visit the Old Cathedral, the Queen of Peace Center (which is partially funded by Catholic Charities) and bowling at Tropicana Lanes. The week concluded with “Wacky Day” on Friday and the school Carnival.
