St. John’s Women’s Guild

The St. John Lutheran Women’s Guild met on May 13 at the house of Dotty Cahill.
President Brenda Elliott called the meeting to order and opened with prayer.
Roll call was answered by six members using a bible verse or poem about Mother or Motherhood.
A couple devotionals from Bruce Boyer’s Devotion Book “24/7 Stories of Faith from Everyday Life” served as the bible study and was led by Dotty Cahill.
Bruce is the son-in-law of St. John member Leon Schwab.
The Secretary’s report was read and approved. The Treasurer’s report was given and approved.
Committee reports were given.
Dotty Cahill clipped the minutes from “The Vandalia Leader” and put them into the scrapbook.
Elsie Hand and Regina Vogt reported on the spring Zone Rally, which was on April 25 and was held in Hannibal.
Correspondence: Regina Vogt received and email regarding 2015-2017 Mission Grant Proposal.
Old Business: There was no old business to report.
New Business: Next month cleaning supplies and paper supplies will be collected as our church service project.
Meeting closed with the Lord’s prayer led by Brenda Elliott. Dotty Cahill was hostess.
Members in attendance were Brenda Elliott, Elsie Hand, Dotty Cahill, Carol Fischer, Regina Vogt, and Sabrina Lovell.
