The St. John Lutheran Women’s Guild met on February 11 at Dotty Cahill’s home. President Brenda Elliott called the meeting to order and opened with prayer.
Roll call was answered by seven members using a Bible verse or poem about Love. “Turning and returning” served at the topic for Bible Study and was led by Dotty Cahill.
The Secretary’s report and Treasurer’s report were read and approved.
Committee reports were given and discussion held with members approving the purchase of a pattern book for banners. Dotty has been adding to the scrapbook with articles from “The Vandalia Leader.”
There was no correspondences to report.
In old business, details and ideas were discussed for the Mother-Daughter Banquet, including having a brunch and a tentative date. Ideas were discussed for program and speaker. In new business, no Lenten services or meals will take place. Maundy Thursday and Good Friday observances will be combined on a Wednesday. March service project will be the food pantry. Guild members will be bringing items for the food pantry to March’s Guild meeting.
The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer.
Sabrina Lovell was hostess. Members in attendance were Dotty Cahill, Carol Fischer, Regina Vogt, Sabrina Lovell, Elsie Hand, Karen Morris, and Brenda Elliott.
