The St. Cecilia Music Club met at 6:30 p.m. on May 18 at Tri-County Care Center. Members present were Denise Allen, Ruth Calcaterra, Deanna Divins, Deanna Frey, Brenda Gower, Leanna Leake, Denna Nichols, Brenda Owens, and Veanna Snodgrass.
A program was performed for the residents of Tri-County Care Center and guests. The program began with Trevor Winders, son of Warren and Claire Winders, playing several numbers. Erin Childs and Ennis Childs, children of Kurt and Amy Childs, also played several selections on the piano. The St. Cecilia Club finished out the program by singing several songs.
It was announced that Warren Kraft from Van-Far received the John Philip Sousa award. Veanna Snodgrass announced that she had been in contact with Master’s Praise and they were available on July 12 for the Gospel Sing. The time was set for 7 p.m. at the Family Life Center for the Gospel Sing. Veanna stated she would contact the group for details.
The VFW Memorial Day program at 10 a.m. will be at the VFW Hall and members are to meet there at 9:30 that morning.
Songs selected to sing were the Battle Hymn of the Republic and God Bless America.
The next meeting is on June 15. Leanna Leake stated she will be the hostess and the next meeting will be at the Family Life Center, in Vandalia.
Music was practiced and refreshments were served by hostess Veanna Snodgrass.
