Jenea Smith, director of Audrain Medical Center Rehabilitation Department, presented the program for the recent Audrain County Area Public School Retirees in the conference center at Audrain Medical Center.
Lois Runnels, president, opened the business meeting followed by Joyce Lind who led the pledge of allegiance. Linda Ahmann gave the devotion on volunteers, including The Next Step Program at the Hart Vocational School. Roll call was answered with each retirees favorite president.
Thank you notes were read from Mexico High School Library and the Help Center.
President Runnels reminded everyone to contact their legislators concerning Senator Jim Crowley’s agenda to have the legislature take control of the school retirees pension system.
President Runnels and Laura Worstell, legislative chairwoman, will attend MRTA Legislative Day February l4 at the capitol in Jefferson City.
The MRTA Spring Leadership Training Workshop will be March l4-l5 in Jefferson City.
The 20l2 directory booklets, prepared by Linda Ahmann, were made available to all members.
One project of the unit was to clean the One Room School House at the Audrain County Historical Site, where the next meeting will be held April 4.
The blessing was given by Loretta Tsikalas before the meal in the cafeteria.
