Shirley Ann Owens, age 61 of St. Peters formerly of Bowling Green, passed away Aug. 24, 2014 at NHC Healthcare in Town and Country. Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. on Friday Aug. 29, at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green, with Rev. John Pinkston II officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
She was born June 15, 1953 in Louisiana, the daughter of Roy Martin and Leona Elizabeth Winkler Owens.
Survivors include brothers Roy Henry Owens and wife Joyce of Palmyra, Donald Steven Owens of Bowling Green and Thomas Owens of Bowling Green; sister Mary Lee Owens of St. Peters; sisters-in-law Nelva Owens and Lee Owens. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Richard Owens and Gus Owens.
Shirley lived at the Ruth Jensen Village in Bowling Green and at Willows Way in St. Charles. In 2009 she moved in with her sister Mary in St. Peters. In October of 2013, as Shirley’s medical needs increased, she moved to NHC Healthcare in Town and Country. She touched many hearts every place she lived. She had a wonderful sense of humor and will be remembered as a beautiful gift of love and kindness.
Serving as pallbearers were pallbearers were Tony Owens, Brad Owens, Kenny Owens, Craig Miller and Chase Miller.
