After serving “The Vandalia Leader” for 10 years in the general manager/editor position, Ron Schott was officially promoted to publisher last week by Lakeway Publishers, Inc.
Schott will remain with the newspaper while working with his new title.
“Ron is ‘The Vandalia Leader.’ Whether covering the local football game or area events, or making the rounds to the advertisers, Ron lives and breathes service to the community via the Leader,” said Walt Gilbert, Vice President of Lakeway Publishers of Missouri.
“Ron is dedicated to his responsibilities and the Vandalia community has benefited from that for many years now. Lakeway is pleased and proud to have Ron leading the charge here at the Leader. He is a proven professional and he and his staff know how to service the readers and advertisers. I know the community joins me in congratulating Ron on his new title of publisher of ‘The Vandalia Leader.’”
Schott received notice of his promotion in a letter last week hand delivered by Gilbert.
“Even in these changing days, newspapers are still one of the main cornerstones of any community, and your service is recognized as being the driving force behind the success of the Leader,” was a statement printed in a personalized letter from both Gilbert and R. Jack Fishman, President of Lakeway Publishers, Inc.
