A full schedule is set for the upcoming 41st Annual Vandalia Area Fair set for Thursday, July 6-Saturday, July 8.
Entertainment slated for this year’s event includes several returning performers.
Thursday evening features the return of “Class Act Duo,” Rick and Judy Francis, from 7-9 p.m.
Day two’s entertainment features the return of “Contagious,” who is considered by many as “St. Louis’ Ultimate Party Band.” They will perform from 8-10 p.m.
The final evening features the return of the “Push Band” from 7-10 p.m.
Day one begins with the decorated tricycle/bicycle contest at the Vandalia Post Office at 5 p.m. before the 5:30 p.m. parade that starts at South School. At 6 p.m., the Alethea Club will host an Ice Cream and Cake Social in the school building.
Sign-up for the Little Mr./Little Miss Contest is slated for 6-6:25 p.m. in the pavilion before the 6:30 p.m. event.
The Horse Arena will be the site of the 7 p.m. Horse and Pony Fun Show.
The Missouri Farm Pullers will also start their event at 7 p.m. on the main track while “Class Act Duo” entertains at the Fair.
Day two features a 5:30 p.m. sign-up for the Mud Pig Catch in the Horse Arena. The event starts at 6 p.m.
From 6-10 p.m., the Dam Few Car and Motorcycle Drive-In will be held.
A Toy Scramble starts at 7 p.m.
“Contagious” entertains in the evening.
Day three opens with the 4-H and FFA Cattle Show in the Cattle Barn at 10 a.m.
Later at 4:30 p.m., the Missouri Girls Rodeo Association (MGRA) training barrels begins. The MGRA event starts at 6:30 p.m.
Sign-ups for the Baby Show is from 5-5:45 p.m. as the event starts at 6 p.m.
Money in the Straw will be held at 6:30 p.m.
The Mid Mo Truck and Tractor event starts at 7 p.m. on the Main Track.
“Push Band” concludes the Fair that evening.
The Fairgrounds will be open from 5-11 p.m. all three days. Inflatables open at 5 p.m. each day.
Admissions costs $5 on Thursday while kids 3 and under are free. Friday’s and Saturday’s admission costs $10 for adults, kids ages 4-12 are $5, and kids 3 and under are free.
