Schedule set for 66th Annual 4th of July event in Laddonia

The full schedule is set for next week’s 66th Annual 4th of July event in Laddonia slated for the ball park, sponsored by the Laddonia Missouri Athletic Association (LMAA).
From 7-10 a.m., an Honor Flight breakfast starts the day at the Laddonia Christian Church, located at 4th St. and Chestnut. Veterans eat free for the event sponsored by Big Gun Kettle Corn and the LMAA.
At 9 a.m., the Baby Show begins at the ball park as contestants can wear anything. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and the entry fee is $2.
A Vendor Show also starts at 9 a.m. and runs through 6 p.m. For more information, email
The parade, sponsored by the Laddonia Ladybugs, begins at 11 a.m. Line-up starts at 9:30 a.m. at City Park and judging takes place at 10 a.m. Categories include float, motorcycles, tractor, cars, trucks, horses, golf cards/UTVs, and kid’s entry.
The Car/Bike Cruise In starts at noon, right after the parade at the volleyball pit lot. It also includes “Kickin It” with DJ Cory. Trophies will be awarded. Big Gun Kettle Corn/LMAA is the sponsor.
The Yee-Haw Line Dancers will entertain at 12:30 p.m. in the George Rinkle Memorial Pavilion.
The 1 p.m. Horseshoe Pitching Tournament starts at the Wayne McGrew Horseshoe Pits. Trophies to be given in three classes with a $10 entry fee.
A $20 per team entry fee and cash prizes are featured in the 1 p.m. Washer Tournament.
A 2 p.m. Cake Walk will be held with all proceeds going towards the Little League.
Free Family Kids Games start at 3 p.m. as contestants are encouraged to wear old clothes. The time will feature turtle races, frog jump, tug-of-war, bike/trike races, water balloon toss, three-legged race, paint battle royal, and much more.
The 5 p.m. Slip & Slide Kickball event is for all age groups costing $1 per player on a 10-person team.
An insurance waiver must be signed to play.
The Hall of Fame Awards take place at 8 p.m. as Charles Heim, Norman (Shorty) and Linda Robbins will be honored.
The Candy Toss will take place right before the fireworks shoot off at dusk.
Other ongoing events during the day include “Shop with a Cop” dunk book, bounce house, Poet corn trailer, and raffle.
Mid-Missouri Kickball is sponsoring a Kickball Tournament with a $150 entry fee for a 10-player team. Register online at There will also be live entertainment.
Concessions will be available all day long. The menu includes pork steak, fish, BBQ pork burgers and BBQ hamburgers, chicken strips, hot dogs, taters, beans, and slaw. Plates are available for purchase with two sides.
