Royalty crowned for Homecoming

King Jacob Garner and Queen Jordan Garner became Homecoming royalty during halftime of the Indians’ football game last Friday night.

Van-Far students enjoyed Homecoming Week that included many contests leading into Friday night’s football game against Clopton-Elsberry.
This year’s Spirit Stick was awarded to the junior class. Seniors placed second, sophomores were third, and the freshman class was fourth.
Winners in the events included:
Banners-1) Juniors; 2) Seniors; 3) Freshmen; 4) Sophomores
Dress-Up Days (three days considered)-1) Seniors; 2) Sophomores; 3) Juniors; 4) Freshmen
Floats-1) Juniors; 2) Sophomores; 3) Seniors; 4) Freshmen
Mini-Olympics-1) Juniors; 2) Seniors; 3) Sophomores; 4) Freshmen
The Spirit King and Queen crowned were Colin Wilburn and Mackenzie Kurz.
A Powder Puff game was held on Wednesday evening and the juniors won, 20-0.
As for Homecoming King and Queen, Jacob Garner and Jordan Garner were crowned during halftime of the football game with the Indianhawks.
A Homecoming Parade was also held before the game on Main St. in downtown Vandalia.
