Rotary pays tribute to Rudolph the Red Nosed Groundhog Feb. 2

Members of the Vandalia Rotary Club paid tribute to “Rudolph the Red Nosed Groundhog” during their meeting on Groundhog Day, February 2, at the Vandalia Hotel. Pictured wearing red noses are, from left: Teresa Stice, Rennie Davis, Bill Kohl, Bob Moore, Phil Ennis, Terry Witte (holding his nose), Tim Embree, Earl Cordry, Clayton Barse, Joe Boone, Alan Adam, and Chris Felmlee. Groundhog Day was invented in 1841 by a groundhog who was a friend of storekeeper James Morris in Berks County, Pennsylvania.
