Robert Layne (Bert) Dunn, age 58, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 4:40 a.m. in Lincoln Medical Center.
Robert was born at Pike County Hospital, in Louisiana, Missouri, the son of Robert Dean and Kay Gramley Dunn on August 6, 1956.
He graduated from Van-Far High School in 1974 and from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri with a Safety Engineer Degree in 1981. After college he worked for Martin Marriott Aero Space in New Orleans, Louisiana and later transferred to Huntsville, Alabama. He transferred to the Lockheed-Martin Missile Division.
He is survived by his parents Robert and Kay Dunn, of Vandalia; companion of 30 years, Frances E. Baker, of Fayetteville; sister Kaye L. (Richard) Schmidt, of St. Louis; brother Thomas A. Dunn, Vandalia; along with nieces and nephews.
Robert loved the outdoors and had been in the Outward Bound program and on many hiking trails.
Graveside services and interment will be in the Vandalia Cemetery at a later date. Higgins Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Tennessee is in charge.
