The Community R-VI Trojans basketball team held Marion County’s offense to nine points or less in three quarters last week and picked up a 62-33 win over the Mustangs. Community R-VI led 41-9 at halftime and never looked back in their big win.
“We jumped out early with our pressure and they really struggled with it,” said Community R-VI head coach Matt Thomas. “Our younger guys got a lot of playing time so that was good also.”
Blaze Escamilla led the team with 18 points, one rebound, two steals, and one assist while Evan Hartsock added 12 points, three rebounds, seven steals, and four assists.
Caden Escamilla scored 10 points, two rebounds, three assists, and one steal; Garrett Schmidt had seven points, three assists, two rebounds, and one steal; Case Stafford added three points, one rebound and one assist; Kyle Oligschlaeger had two points, four rebounds, and one steal; and Grant Stafford had two points and three rebounds.
