R-VI track excels in Monroe City

Alissa Craig heaves the shot put in an event last week at Monroe City.

Both the Community R-VI boys and girls track and field program had solid performances at the Monroe City track meet (Dennis Hancock Invite) last Tuesday.
The boys were in seventh place and led by Blaze Escamilla.
Escamilla set a school record and personal record in the 3,200 meters with a time of 11:16.80 for second place.
He also set a PR and SR in the 1,600 meters (5:01.99).
Collien Turner set both a PR and SR in the triple jump with a leap of 36’03.75” as he was fourth overall.
Hunter Hoeflicker took fourth in the javelin (101’05”).
As for the Lady Trojans, the team had 29 team points for seventh place.
Elissa Swam took sixth in the 800 meters with a PR time of 3:02.52 and seventh in the 200 meters.
Natalie Thomas was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (18.62) and fifth in the 300-meter hurdles (59.72).
Sirrina Dunn took eighth in shot put and also had a PR in the discus (58’10”).
Alissa Craig was third in the shot put (29’05”) and third in the discus (78’11”).
