trojan-1The No. 5 seed Community R-VI Trojans basketball team was hoping to pick up a first round win over Bevier in the Class 1, District 11 Tournament at Madison.
A win would have given the Trojans a semifinals match-up with rival Wellsville-Middletown, who went on to win their first district title since 1988.
Unfortunately, the Trojans couldn’t find enough offense in a heartbreaking double overtime loss to  Bevier, 56-54.
Bevier led 9-7 early before Community R-VI started the second quarter on a 5-0 run to take the lead.
Cordell Hollensteiner made a basket and Bobby Jett made back-to-back 3-pointers during an 8-0 run to give the Trojans a 10-point edge.
Community R-VI entered halftime up 24-16 but Bevier responded with a big third quarter. They outscored the Trojans 11-5 to cut the lead to two points.
The Trojans started the fourth quarter on a 6-0 run to take an eight point lead. Bevier responded with a 5-0 run of their own.
