R-VI School Board sets athletic, lunch rates

The Community R-VI School Board set athletic and meal prices during their regular meeting held on Wednesday, July 18.
According to the school board minutes, the board voted to set the 2012-2013 school year athletic admissions prices as follows: $4 adult; $3 student; and $9 per family.
The board voted to set the Season Pass ticket prices as follows: Adult Pass $30 for 15 admissions, family will be a maximum of two punches on an adult pass; Student Pass for $15.
Family is defined as father, mother, and those dependent children living in the same household. Lifetime Senior Citizens passes will be issued at no charge to patrons of the R-VI School District 65 years of age or older. Any senior citizen 65 years of age or older will be not be charged to attend athletic events.
The board voted to set the 2012-2013 breakfast prices at $1.05 per student and $1.25 per adult. The board voted to set the lunch prices as follows: $1.35 per elementary student; $1.60 per secondary student; and $2.05 per adult. The board voted to set the milk price at .35 cents per carton. The board voted to set the 2012-2013 reduced lunch prices at .30 cents for breakfast and .40 cents for lunch.
The board voted to approve the Regular Session June 20, 2012 minutes. The board approved the transfer from the general fund to the teacher’s fund to cover monthly expenditures. The board approved the dual credit agreements with Central Methodist University (CMU) and Missouri State University (MSU) for the 2012-2013 school year.
The board voted to employ Cynthia Fort, registered nurse, to supervise Lee Ann Meador, licensed practical nurse, at $25 per hour for 90 hours for a total of $2,250 for the 2012-2013 school year. The board voted to pay the July 2012 bills.
Mr. Fairchild read a thank you note from Karen Stone for the stepping stone that was sent to her in memory of her father. Mr. Fairchild read a letter from Susan Wilson requesting consideration for release from her contract for the 2012-2013 school year.
There were no presentations. There were no board comments. There were no citizen comments.
The board voted to approve the 2012-2013 secondary handbook. The board voted to accept the 2012-2013 fuel and lubricant bid from Martinsburg Farmer’s Elevator. The board voted to participate in the Model Educator Evaluation System through Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). The board voted to approve the modified daily schedule to aid in the implementation of the Professional Learning Communities and Positive Behavior Intervention Supports at the secondary level.
This was the board’s first reading of the following policies and regulations: Policy and Regulation 2710; Policy 2760; Policy 2810; Regulation 2870; Policy 2930; Policy 3102; Policy 3180; Policy 4873; Policy and Regulation 6145; and Regulation 6241. The board will take action at the September 19, 2012 board meeting.
Mrs. Mack presented the transportation report and the 2012 exit surveys, which were completed by departing staff members. She announced OPAA! Food Service Management, Incorporated will have an orientation for food service employees on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 10 a.m.
Natalie Gibson, elementary principal, gave an update on the Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS). She announced that she will have a report on the 2012 Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) scores as they are made available. Mrs. Gibson gave an update on federal program budgets and the Buddy Backpack program.
Dale Marshall, secondary principal, will be working with staff to implement a modified daily schedule, which will aid in the implementation of the Professional Learning Communities and Positive Behavior Intervention Supports at the secondary level.
At 8:09 p.m., the board voted to move into executive session. The Board voted to approve the June 20, 2012 executive session minutes. The board voted to offer a probationary contract to Jessica Young for the high school English teacher position.
The board voted to give a probationary (for a period of three months) letter of appointment to Tyler Kobush for the part-time custodian position.
The board voted to offer a probationary contract to David Smith for the high school social studies teacher position.
The board voted to offer extra duty contracts to David Smith for the assistant football coach and head boys’ basketball coach positions.
