The Community R-VI Trojans struggled offensively in its match-up with Marion County on Senior Night last Thursday as they fell to the Mustangs, 56-42.
All of the Trojans’ seniors scored in the loss as the team fell to 4-and-19 overall.
“Did not play well,” said Community R-VI head coach Kenneth Jett. “Going to have to pick it up for districts.”
The Mustangs outscored the Trojans 16-8 in the first quarter before Community R-VI cut the lead to five points at halftime. Marion County outscored the Trojans 20-17 in the second half to hold on for the victory.
Bobby Jett led Community R-VI with 11 points; Gage Graves had eight; both Cordell Hollensteiner and Matt Gastler had six points; Anthony Fairchild scored five points; Gatlin Curtis added four points; and Jamie Householder scored two points.

The Trojans followed up their final home game with a disappointing 50-29 loss in their regular season finale at Mark Twain.
Offensively, the Trojans failed to score more than nine points in any of the four quarters.
The Trojans actually led 17-16 at halftime before giving up another lead this season. Mark Twain outscored them 34-12 in the second half for the 21-point win.
Community R-VI made just 11-of-50 shots from the field and 4-of-27 3-point shots.
They were outrebounded, 51-19.
Hollensteiner scored a team-high 14 points, three rebounds, and two steals while Gastler had four points and two rebounds.
Fairchild had four points, three steals, and two rebounds; Curtis had four points and one rebound; Householder added three points, two steals, and one rebound; Graves tallied four rebounds and one block; and both Jett and Klayton Bosworth each had one steal.
Defensively, Curtis had five deflections/tips.
