R-VI Middle School girls outscore two teams, 89-6

The Community R-VI Middle School girls basketball team outscored two opponents 89-6 in two big wins last week.
Against St. Brendan’s, the Lady Trojans led 42-2 at halftime before cruising to an easy 38-point victory.
Alexis Welch scored a team-high 12 points while Emmi Johnson added 10 points. Brianna Beamer had eight points, Emma Angel scored seven points, and Lachlan Elsey added five points.
Two days later, the Lady Trojans jumped out to a 29-2 halftime lead before crushing rival Wellsville 47-2.
Welch scored 20 points, Beamer had 15 points, and Johnson scored four points. Shelby Clark, Jeyle Luckett, Elsey, and Angel each added two points.
“We had two really great wins this week,” said Community R-VI head coach Stacie Carroz. “Our game has gotten better defensively, as you can see, we held our opponents to six points in the last two games.”
