A new digital sign has recently been purchased and erected on the campus of the Community R-VI School District.
Installers put the sign on the grounds on August 20 and it officially went live on August 23.
The Board of Education accepted a bid from Jewell Sign Company, in Festus, Mo., during its June meeting at a cost of $28,674.
The Vantage LED sign is a double face electronic message center (EMC) Model FLEX V-Series Outdoor 12 mm Full Color, 100 x 200. The size of this EMC is: 3’ – 11 1/4” x 7’ – 10 1/2”. The accepted bid also included a Cellular Data Plan with modem. A 2’x8’ top sign, free tech support, shipping, and installation were also included in the price.
There is a seven year warranty on all electronic components and a seven year warranty on labor.
The software is cloud based, which allows district managers to access it from anywhere. All the content is organized online and backed up instantly.
The sign is capable of automatically including severe weather alerts, law enforcement messages, Amber alerts, and federal alerts when posted by FEMA for the area.
Wright Electric provided the electrical work for the power to the sign.
