R-VI breaks several school records

trojan-1Four school records were broken by the Community R-VI girls track and field program last week at a meet in Mexico.
The Lady Trojans were led by Deann Brooks. Brooks placed third wit ha school record and personal record in the 200 meters with her time of 30.12 seconds. Brooks also broke a school record in the 100-meter hurdles to place third with a time of 18.75 seconds.
In the triple jump, Brooks medaled with a fifth place leap of 28’8.5”.
Anna Gangloff took fifth in the 1,600 meters with a new school record and PR time of 6:09.86. She was also fifth in the 800 meters.
Gangloff then teamed with Emily Hoyt, Lauryn Robnett, and Emma Hombs to help the 4×400-meter relay team to break a school record and PR for sixth place with a time of 5:14.97.
“We broke a couple of school records at Mexico,” said Community R-VI head track and field coach Stacie Carroz.
Brianna Beamer set a PR with a time of 2:51.35 to take fourth in the 800 meters. She also participated in the 4×200-meter relay with Sadie Hoyt, Kasey Dawson, and Dalaney Bowers and finished with a time of 2:10.
Beamer leaped 11’.25” in the long jump.
Sadie Hoyt finished sixth in the long jump after a leap of 28’.25”. She also teamed with Emily Hoyt, Emma Hombs, and Bowers for a fifth place medal in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 59.53 seconds. Sadie Hoyt competed in the 400 meters and finished with a time of 1:18.98.
Dawson set a PR in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 21.43 seconds.
Robnett set a PR in the shot put with a toss of 26’. She also participated in the 400 meters and discus events.
Emma Hombs  also competed in the 100 meters and discus. Emily Hoyt competed in the long jump. Bowers competed in the 200 meters.
The boys track and field program was led by Cadin Escamilla, who set a PR in the triple jump with a leap of 34’8.25”.
He also teamed with Dannya Kuda, Jake Haines, and Kyle Oligschlaeger to set a PR in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 57.55 seconds.
Oligschlaeger did set a PR in the 100 meters with a time of 14.98 seconds and a PR in the shot put with a toss of 32’3.5”.
Ethan Fort set a PR in the shot put with a toss of 26’7”.
Haines set a PR in the 200 meters with a time of 31.42 seconds. He also competed in the long jump.
Garrett Schmidt set a PR in the 400 meters with a time of 1:12.26. He also ran in the 200 meters race. Those competing in other events include Kuda (100 meters,  200 meters, long jump), Kleinsorge (400 meters, discus), and Hunter Hoeflicker (discus).
