Susan Quinlan

Susan Quinlan, PT, at Audrain Medical Center’s Rehabilitation Services (Healthworks), recently completed a course to learn effective techniques for improving speed, agility, and quickness for athletes of all ages and abilities. The training consisted of a two-day course in St. Louis. The course was designed to assist in identifying common mistakes in acceleration, deceleration and change of direction in order to teach correct mechanics.
Some of the training Susan received included drills to best prepare athletes for training and competition; how to position an athlete in the appropriate alignment to give them a more explosive first step; corrective techniques for acceleration, deceleration and change in direction and how to identify common flaws; drills to improve speed, acceleration and direction change, and how to collect data to identify an athletes strength and weaknesses.
The goal of Healthworks’ physical therapists is to return athletes to competition and educate each individual on techniques to prevent future injuries. Susan has 10 years of experience in treating a wide range of competitive levels from future D1 collegiate athletes to novices just learning a sport. In addition to Susan, Ron Bracht, PT, brings 20 years of experience in rehabilitation of athletes at Audrain Medical Center.
