On July 31, 2015, the Missouri-American Water Company filed water and sewer rate cases with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to increase base rates by approximately $51 million or 19.63%. As a result of the existing Infrastructure System Replacement Surcharge (ISRS) being rolled into permanent rates and the ISRS being reset to zero, the net percentage increase in Missouri-American’s revenue requirement in this rate case would be approximately 9.73%. Only St. Louis County customers of the Missouri-American Water Company have an ISRS, which is separately identified on the water bills.
The impact of the rate requests on the average residential customer in each of Missouri-American Water Company’s service areas, as filed by the company on July 31, 2015, appears on the following page.
The Missouri-American Water Company serves approximately 471,708 water and sewer customers in Missouri.
