Pike County Sheriff’s Department makes arrests

Untitled-2Pike County Sheriff Stephen Korte releases the following information:
On April 1, 2014 Jesse W. Jacobs, 27, of Bowling Green was arrested an on a warrant for Distribution of a Controlled Substance near schools. Pike County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Fisher has charged Jacobs with the class A felony for selling synthetic marijuana within 2000 feet of a school on February 4, 2014, Judge David Ash issued the warrant, with bond being set at $100,000 cash only. Jacobs is currently being held in the Pike County Jail.
On March 31, 2014, Billy Jack Simmons, 43, of Bowling Green was arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance and exceeding the posted speed limit. These charges stem from a traffic stop that was initiated by a deputy on Simmons’ vehicle for speeding in late 2013.
During the traffic stop, the deputy located and seized suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia used to smoke methamphetamine.
Pike County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Fisher has charged Simmons with a class C felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and a class B Misdemeanor of Exceeded Posted Speed Limit. Judge David Ash issued the warrant, with bond being set at $10,000 cash only. Simmons is currently being held in the Pike County Jail.
All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
