Pike County Memorial Hospital Emergency Services recently celebrated the arrival of a new ambulance.

Pike County Memorial Hospital (PCMH) Emergency Services is proud to announce the arrival of a new state of the art ambulance.
Last week, PCMH took ownership of a 2016 Dodge 4500 Osage Ambulance. This new addition will aid PCMH in servicing approximately 3000 calls per year.
The ambulance is equipped with some of the newest equipment on the market. The chassis is a Dodge 4500 diesel, 4×4 with Liquid Gel suspension.
This should allow for a safer and smoother ride for both the crews and more importantly the patients.
The 4×4 aspect will also allow for better access to the rural areas in our county during bad weather. Once the EMS crew gets to your location they will be loading you with PCMH’s state of the art Stryker self-loading stretcher.
The stretcher has a load capacity of 700  lbs.
Unfortunately, ambulances are expensive and this ambulance cost approximately $206,000.
Moving to this style of ambulance, PCMH will be able to save money in the future by refurbishing the box and only replacing the truck portion of the ambulance.
PCMH is very grateful for the support from the community that allows them to continue to purchase high quality equipment. PCMH is always looking at ways of bettering their services to the community.
