Patricia E. Zimmerschied

Patricia E. Zimmerschied, age 68, of Huber Heights, Ohio, died Sunday, February 3, 2013, at her home.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 8, 2013, at the Marker & Heller Funeral Home in Huber Heights with Pastor Robert Hooker officiating.

Burial was at Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.

She was born September 28, 1944, to William W. and Mary P. Marshall George.

Patty grew up on a farm south of Vandalia and graduated from Van-Far High School in 1962.  She married Ray Zimmerschied on January 2, 1965, in Vandalia and after Ray’s tour of duty overseas with the U.S Air Force, they made their home in Huber Heights, Ohio where Ray was stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base until retirement.

Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-laws, Tim and Lisa Zimmerschied of Greensboro, N.C. and Mark and Dawn Zimmerschied of Cincinnati, Ohio. Grandchildren  Erica, Michael, Amanda and Alexis: sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Jed Sprague of Kissimmee, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law; William and Linda George of Kingwood, Texas and Craig and Jeannie George of Vandalia, Mo. Brother-in-law,  Larry and Jackie Zimmerschied and Sister-in-Law, Sue Zimmerschied, all of Kansas and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Patty had worked for Huber Heights City Schools until her retirement and was a member of Huber Heights First Baptist Church.

Patty and Ray enjoyed spending the winters in Florida and traveling to visit their families.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Van-Far Alumni Scholarship in Patricia’s memory.
