Van-Far senior Jayson Orr officially signed a letter of intent with North Central Missouri College to continue his golf career on the collegiate level. His signing ceremony with the Pirates was held on April 3.
Pirates head coach Craig Sager stated, “Jayson is a great kid that will add a ton of character to our program. There are some things that he will need to tighten up to compete at this level, but he has all the raw tools you could ask for in a player. He plays a very loose style and can really lean on his putter when he gets in a bind. All of the things that need to be handled from a housekeeping standpoint are already there, leaving your bag on the correct side of the green, playing ready golf, course etiquette, manners, and being a good teammate. Too often we have to spend time teaching these things; with Jayson, he’ll be able to get here and immediately work on his game.”
With Orr at his signing were his mom and dad, Melissa and Jay Orr, head coach Craig Seager for the North Central Missouri College Pirates, and grandparents Mary Orr, Brenda Scrogin, Charles Scrogin, Larry Orr, and Joyce Borgmeyer.
Also, not pictured were several of Orr’s friends and classmates, as well as Van-Far Athletic Director, Van-Far Jr./Sr. High School Principal Kim Pafford, and others from Van-Far and the area.
