The Audrain County Emergency Management Agency Grant Coordinator/PIO Chris Newbrough (left) accepted a check for $2,000 from Norfolk Southern Railroad Representative Mark Belmonte. The money will go for the purchase of an outdoor warning siren to be installed on the campus of the Community R-VI School District in rural Laddonia. The gift leaves the Audrain County Emergency Management Agency $1,667 short of the needed funds to purchase and install the siren. The total cost of the siren is $10,431 and Newbrough said they hope to have the fundraising wrapped up by summer and the siren installed by the start of the 2016-17 school year. If anyone would like to contribute to the fundraising effort, they can reach Newbrough or the Audrain County Emergency Management Director Steven B. Shaw, at the Audrain County Emergency Management Agency. The phone number is 573-473-5892.
