New sheriff sworn into office for first time in three decades

Several Audrain County officials were sworn into office by Audrain County Clerk Shelley Harvey last Friday inside the  Audrain County Courthouse.
For the first time in 32 years, a new Audrain County Sheriff was sworn into office when Matt Oller took his oath of office as led by the Audrain County Clerk.
Sheriff Oller recognized his family members along with past and present staff from the Sheriff’s Office who were in attendance.
“This is the first time in 32 years that the county’s actually been forced to pick a new sheriff,” Sheriff Oller noted. “I’m very humbled that I was chosen…”
He said he will do his best to run the office the way it should be run with “honesty, integrity, and accountability.”
Sheriff Oller presented a Missouri State Senate Resolution from Sen. Jeanie Riddle to retiring Sheriff Stuart Miller, who was in attendance with his wife Pam.
He also had a special recognition to present the retiring Sheriff Miller from the FBI.
Sheriff Miller also placed a special pin on Sheriff Oller’s uniform.
New Eastern County Commissioner Alan Winders was sworn into office.
He later publicly thanked supporters Anita Hoyt, Donna Tilman, and his mom Wanda Winders. He thanked all of those who showed up to the ceremony.
New Western County Commissioner Tracy Graham was also sworn into office. He publicly recognized his son Jacy and his wife Janet, who were in attendance.
Audrain County Public Administrator Connie Hagan was sworn in and she noted that she had some family in attendance for the ceremony.
Audrain County Coroner Todd Yager was also sworn in and shared a couple of fun moments with those in attendance.
