Nancy Allen, age 92, of Bowling Green passed away peacefully Monday, April 15, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Hannibal surrounded by her family.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday, April 22 at the Second Baptist Church in Bowling Green with the Rev. Don Amelung officiating. Burial was in the Bowling Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mudd-Veach Funeral Home.
Nancy was born July 28, 1920 in Bowling Green, the daughter of Armstead Franklin and Georgia Eva Showers Smiley.
In Hannibal on July 15, 1939 she married Levi William Allen.  He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter Caroline Drew Doss of Hannibal; eight grandchildren Lisa Hays (Mark), Kim Bock (John), Marnie Tate (Kevin), Bobbi Hampton (Scott), Tammie Kirk, Steven Patton (Karen), Jeff Patton (Wanda), and Mathew Patton (Heather); 14 great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren; two son-in-laws Robert “Bob” Drew and Dewayne Patton.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter Linda (Allen) Patton; one son Billy Frank Allen; and one great granddaughter Sasha Bock.
Nancy was born and raised in Bowling Green and loved her community. She was a very active member of the Bowling Green Second Baptist Church where she lead and sang in the church choir.
Nancy’s favorite place was in the kitchen baking and cooking.  She took great pride in her family and loved being a hands-on mom and grandmother.  Nancy loved her special little dog Gizmo.
Serving as pallbearers were Steve Patton, Jeff Patton, Mathew Patton, Christopher Hays, Dustin Bock, Saige Tate, Robbie Kirk, and Devin Kirk.  Serving as honorary pallbearers were Robert “Bob” Drew, Dewayne Patton, Mark Hays, John Bock, Kevin Tate, Scott Hampton, Scott Ehrardt and Norman Crim.
Memorials may be made to the Second Baptist Church in Bowling Green.
