It’s hard to believe it’s been four years since a beautiful 2 lb., 9 oz. baby girl came into the world three months earlier than we had hoped for.
My little girl, Lydia Jo Schott, turned 4 this past Friday.
From the first moment I saw her, I instantly felt the connection to the phrase “daddy’s little girl.”
To this day, she lights up the room with her smile, melts my heart with her blue eyes, her comedic timing for her sentences and the things she says, along with her reactions are absolutely priceless.
I feel like the most blessed man in the world to be able to be the father to this little girl.
While I want her to stay small, she has plans on getting bigger.
With this being the church camp time of year, she’s reminding us that when she turns 8 she can go to girls camp.
Lydia also reminds us from time to time that when she gets bigger she can drive.
Those days will be here way too soon.
This is why I try to show my appreciation each day to an Almighty Creator, thanking him for every second I have with the kids Kristy and I are blessed with.
Experiencing time with them is a blessing from God and I need to give credit where credit is due.
My hope is that none us ever take those precious moments for granted, especially in this busy life.
If you have been too busy with work lately, be sure to plan some time this week to play in some water, play some whiffle ball, or plug into the lives of your children in any way that you can.
Perhaps take a break from your phone or watching TV and challenge yourself to figure out what you can do with your kids that will make a memory that lasts a lifetime.
None of us are guaranteed the next second with them so let’s make all of those seconds count.
