“Music In Our Schools” celebration

The Van-Far Music Department presented its annual “Music In Our Schools” Month Spring Concert on Monday, March 5.
Van-Far Elementary School’s Recorder Rock Starts opened the event with “Rhapsody on a Civil War Ballad (Aura Lee)” and “Recorder Rock.” “Recorder Rock” was performed with the assistance of the Warriors Concert Band.
The Van-Far Junior High Choir followed with “That Thing You Do” and “Selections from The Lion King” during their performance.
Van-Far High School’s Mixed Chorus performed “Choral Highlights from Phantom of the Opera,” “Alleluia,” and “Forever Doo-Wop.”
The Chiefs Concert Band concluded the evening with “Dancing Reeds,” “Excerpts from On the Wings of Swallows,” and the “Liberty Bell March.”
The event was under the direction Eric Eckhoff and Kay Bunge.
The next scheduled performance will take place Friday and Saturday, March 23-24 with the District Music Festival at Mexico High School.
