With an in-depth view of countless hours of effort and work, Vandalia Area Historical Society president Paul Ray summed it up nicely: “What is visible to the eye is not the whole story.”
Ray reflected on the Cornerstone Project vision of many following the museum’s re-opening this past weekend.
“Much like the history of our community, there are many things that do not exist today and countless number of people who have moved on. But, those things and the actions of those many former Vandalian’s are what has shaped our history,” noted Ray. “It’s now our responsibility to learn from those former leaders and make sure we lead and leave our community into a better place.
