Mouse Races fundraiser raises money to benefit Vandalia YMCA

Mouse Man Matt calls the action of a mouse race during a special fundraiser held last Friday evening in memory of the late Felicity Goodpasture-Culwell to benefit Vandalia’s YMCA.

An astounding $16,300 was raised for the YMCA in Vandalia during the Mouse Race event held March 2 inside St. Patrick’s Hall at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The fundraiser was held in memory of the late Felicity Goodpasture-Culwell, under the direction of Joni Barnett.
“Best Mouse Race” of St. Louis provided a variety of activities during the fundraiser that sold 230 tickets.
It included several mouse races, an opportunity to name the mice, casino quality “Chuck-a-luck,” “Plinko,” mouse roulette betting, a silent auction, and more.
The mice winners included “Minnie Mouse,” “Aaron McPike,” “Farmer Fresh,” “Usain Bolt,” “Dilly Dilly,” and “Duda.”
The overall winner of the eveing was grand champion Cindy Norton and her winning mouse “Duda.” Mouse Man Matt was the emcee for the evening.
