The Second Annual “Night at the Mouse Races” fundraiser was a great success and raised more than $13,000 in support for the Eastern Missouri Family YMCA.
Debbie Hopke, who is also the YMCA’s lo- cal branch director, took home the grand championship at the event held at the Sacred Heart Parish Center on Saturday, Feb. 2. The top five winners were Barb Straube, who was also celebrating her birthday, along with other winners Paige Gar- ner, Debbie Hopke, Bran- don Straube, and Beth Straube. The first winner of the night was Annie Wallace playing “Chuck- A-Luck.” Kathy Allen was the first winner of Mouse Roulette. Dinner was served from 5-7 p.m. and the games began with Frank Wallace officiating. The bets were to be made with mouse money. The games of the night were “The Best Mouse Race,” “Mouse Roulette,” “Plinko,” and “Chuck-A-Luck.” Participants could also name a mouse. A silent auction was held with many do- nated items from local merchants and YMCA supporters. The Catholic Hall was filled with players enjoying the games throughout the evening. There will be a Ribbon Cutting at the Eastern Missouri Family YMCA on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 10 a.m.
