The four-way stop in Vandalia has changed forever after the recent passing of Vandalia’s Louis Salmon.
Salmon, age 66, passed away on Friday, January 15 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
A service was held on Saturday, January 23 at Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia.
Salmon operated “Salmon Signs” and was a fixture for many years sitting in his car promoting his sign business and selling signs just off Main St.
Flowers have been placed on his car which has been parked on the corner as a memorial in his honor.
Flowers were also placed on a bench sign he painted near a front door located at the County Market in Vandalia.
His many signs are still on display throughout town.
