Dorothy Jane (Sunny) Nabe Morris (Dec. 25, 1912-April 26, 2014) was chosen to be “In the Spotlight” for National Library Week, April 7-13, in honor of her contributions to the community in support of the library at the Vandalia Branch of the Audrain County Library District. Dorothy, or Sunny, as she was known, was a wonderful woman who loved books. Over many years, she donated well over $10,000 in books to the Vandalia Library. She was given the Llewelyn Award for her generosity. Sunny was very proud of that award. Sunny enjoyed religious books, books about golf, famous golf players, and other inspirational books. Many patrons have benefited from her donation of these books. Sunny was an exceptional seamstress. She also sang in the St. Cecilia Music Club. Dorothy Jane Nabe Morris also loved playing golf. She loved to help people and always had a smile. She is missed by many.
