The Monday Study Club met at 2 p.m. on January 23 at the United Methodist Church. Mary Edith Newland was hostess.
The president, Ann Foreman, called the meeting to order as she led the pledges to the American and Christian flags.
Doris Ray had the devotional, “Take One Step: using Deuteronomy 30:15-20.
She closed with prayer. Roll call “Saints” was answered by 11 members with a verse form scripture.
Mary Edith was in charge of the Duty, “Christ More Than Enough,” from John 6:1-21. She also led the question and answer session.
Helen Thompson had the Special Study. She read a story, “One Wing and a Prayer,” from “Chicken Soup for the Soul.” She also read “New Years Resolutions,” quoting I Corinthians 2:2.
Those attending, other than already mentioned were: Val Galloway, Jackie Marshall, Martha Hopke, Deedie Reading, Donna Tilman, Edna Mae Wallace and Janet Shaw.
The meeting was adjourned following the members reciting the Club Collect in unison.
The next meeting will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 13 at the United Methodist Church.
