The Monday Study Club met at 2 p.m. on April 14 at the United Methodist Church. Jan Armstrong was the hostess for the meeting.
The meeting was called to order by club president, Deedie Reading, as she led the pledges to the American and Christian flags.
Jackie Marshall had the devotional from “Inspiration” titled “Bold Confidence.” She followed with prayer.
Roll call was answered by 11 members using the word Spiritual.
Jan gave the Duty, “A Comparison of Prophets.” It was based on Acts 13. She then led the questions and answers.
The Special Study was given by Edna Mae Wallace. She told us of two articles she had read from “Chicken Soup.”
The members present were Jan Armstrong, Donna DeTienne, Ann Foreman, Val Galloway, Martha Hopke, Beverly Largent, Jackie Marshall, Deedie Reading, Kay Reading, Donna Tilman, and Edna Mae Wallace.
Installation of the new officers was the next order of business. The retiring officers were presented seeds and the new officers received gardening tools. Martha Hopke and Deedie Reading were presented sprinklers as Chaplains. Val Galloway received a garden fork as Treasurer. Secretary Jackie Marshall was given a trowel. Donna Tilman was presented a spade as Vice-President, and Donna DeTienne was given garden gloves as President so she could handle the situation with gloves.
The meeting was adjourned as all members recited the Club Collect in unison. The next meeting will be on April 28 at the United Methodist Church for a Spring Luncheon. It will be our last meeting until fall.
