Highlights from the week:
A church service was held in the chapel on Sunday morning and in the afternoon communion was provided by the Methodist Church. Monday morning residents gathered in the dining room for trivia and in the afternoon residents enjoyed bingo sponsored by the Perry VFW Post & Auxiliary #4088. “Pass the Trash” was the entertainment for the card players on Tuesday morning followed by everyone enjoying an ice cream sandwich in the afternoon. Wednesday a group of gamblers went to Boonville to have some fun on the slot machines and enjoy the buffet lunch. There was one lucky winner with the group. Bingo, pool and shuffleboard were the highlights on Thursday morning followed by Catholic communion in the chapel and then a group traveled to Wal-Mart for shopping in the afternoon. That evening another group went to supper in Centralia and had a great time eating and enjoying conversation with each other. MVH Salutes…..David Brooksher as the resident of the month on Friday morning at a reception and in the afternoon Audrey Stevens entertained everyone with her piano playing. Saturday was a busy day with one group going out for breakfast and attending the MVH golf tournament at Arthur Hills and the second group travelling to Louisiana Elks Lodge for a whole hog BBQ appreciation dinner in memory of Clarence Luebrecht.
MVH Salutes…David Brooksher as the resident of the month for August 2012. He was drafted into the US Army in 1968 and served until 1974 as a SP4 during Vietnam. After his military service he worked as a carpenter for his father and then for B&B Construction. For fun he continued to enjoy fishing, hunting and camping and he still loves to fish. He also loves to eat lemons! Thank you David and congratulations!!
The next Amateur Radio Club meeting will be at the facility on Tuesday, August 21st at 7:00 p.m. Come and give your support to the men who gave so much to this country.
Alzheimer Support Group will meet on Wednesday, September 19 at 1:30 p.m. at the facility. The public is welcome to attend.
Audrain County VFW Post No. 3772 and Missouri Veterans’ Home Assistance League will sponsor a Poker Run on Saturday, September 29th. The ride will be for all vehicles. Watch for more details or call Dan Carson at 573-581-4848.
How do I get a clinic appointment when the waiting list is six months for an initial appointment?
If you experience an urgent or emergent medical condition, you can contact your local VA health care facility telephone care program or visit their walk-in (urgent care) clinic or emergency room. Non-acute problems will be scheduled on a next-available appointment basis.
