The Mexico Senior Center, at 606 E. Park St., in Mexico, offers a hot meal to senior citizens, age 60 and over, served Monday-Friday from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., with a suggested contribution of $4. On Friday, November 10, Bob Herrin and Friends will be at the Mexico Senior Center to entertain from 11-11:45 a.m.
The Thanksgiving meal at Mexico Senior Center will be served on Tuesday, November 14. The menu will include turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, cranberry apple salad, baked ham, a homemade hot roll, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream.
“Yesterday in Mexico” will be a day of reminiscing about the “Good Ole Days” at Mexico Senior Center on Thursday, November 16, at 11:30 a.m..
Director of Graceland (Audrain County Historical Museum) Lori Pratt will have old toys and dolls. Everyone is welcome to bring old favorites of their own. Area seniors are invited to come and see what they can identify. This promises to be a fun event, to stir up old memories, and to enjoy being with friends that remember when times were simpler.
The Mexico Senior Center will be having a Christmas Bash on Saturday, December 2 which includes a Holiday Lunch, a Silent Auction, and a huge Bake Sale.
The Bake Sale and Holiday Lunch begins at 10 a.m. Serving lunch will end at 1 p.m. The cost is $7 and all proceeds will go to support the Mexico Senior Center and the Senior Nutrition Program.
The Silent Auction will be for used gift items, gift certificates, and homemade Christmas items. Bids will be awarded at 12:15 p.m.
Santa Claus will be attending.
