Mexico man booked into jail after alleged DWI crash and assault on officer

On Sunday, March 7, 2021, at approximately 8:54 PM, the Mexico Public Safety Department responded to the intersection of Boulevard and Muldrow in reference to a crash.

Responding personnel found that Devin Fernandez, age 29 of Mexico, was driving a 2010 Nissan westbound through the intersection when it collided with a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado being driven by Serena Bosworth, age 39 of Mexico.

During the investigation, officers found evidence that Fernandez was impaired.  He was arrested and transported to MPSD where he assaulted an officer.

Fernandez was taken to the Audrain County Jail for Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device, Driving While Revoked, Driving While Intoxicated, Operating a Vehicle Without Financial Responsibility, Possession of Marijuana <10grams, and Assault 4th Degree-Special Victim.

There were no injuries from the incident.  Everyone is reminded that people arrested / charged with a crime are simply accused of the crime and are to be considered innocent until proven guilty.
