Sam Hazel gets ready to cross the finish line.

Several Vandalia area residents battled the heat all for a good cause this past Saturday as a benefit event was held in memory of the late Feliciy Goodpasture-Culwell.
Melissa Deimeke and Kelsy Fowler planned the event to raise money for a cause Felicity was very passionate about, which is the construction and eventual opening of the Eastern Missouri Family YMCA in Vandalia.
Along with an auction and a BBQ, several memorial tournaments were held in her honor.
