Mefford arrested for assault

On Wednesday, March 16, the Vandalia Police Department was dispatched to the 400 block of West Washington for a domestic disturbance where it was reported that one of the subjects involved in the domestic disturbance was armed with a large knife and had threatened the other person. Officers arrived on scene and located the subject that was in possession of the knife. Timothy Mefford, 24, of Vandalia, Mo. was placed under arrest and transported to the Vandalia Police Department where he was fingerprinted, photographed, and charged with two counts of Domestic Assault 2nd degree (felony), Assault on Law Enforcement 2nd degree (felony), Armed Criminal Action (felony), and Unlawful Use of a Weapon (felony). Mefford was later transported to the Audrain County Jail.
