McMorris qualifies for state

Van-Far’s boys cross country team just missed qualifying for the state championships by five points at last weekend’s Class 1, District 2 race in Bowling Green.
Lathyn McMorris led the Indians by finishing the race in eighth place to earn all-district honors. McMorris’ time of 18:09.58 qualified him for this upcoming Saturday’s Class 1 State Championships held in Jefferson City at Oak HIlls Golf Course. Sam Hazel had a solid run with a 17th place finish after a time of 19:20.02.
Tyler Robinson was 18th at 19:30.10 and Logan Wilson was 22nd at 19:53.99.
Jayson Orr finished his race in the 50-runner meet with a time of 25:44.2 while Zackary Parker had a time of 27:01.61.
The Lady Indians were led by Madalyn McAfee, who finished in 20th place out of 46 runners with a time of 24:20.29.
Vanessa Martinez had a time of 27:38.41.
