Makayla and Austin McCurdy exhibited their indoor projects on July 11 at the Ralls County 4-H Fair.

Makayla received blue ribbons on all her projects. Makayla’s woodworking project—a hanging flowerpot holder—a quilt using the pattern of pinwheels and patchwork, fudge brownie peanut butter filled sandwich cookies, cinnamon rolls, and peanut butter blossom cookies that looked like paw prints, were all chosen to go to the State Fair. Mckayla also made Peanut Butter M&M cookies that received a blue ribbon.

Austin made a bank pole for his sportfishing project that was chosen to go to the State Fair. Austin also made a poster of pictures showing his pig, Ketchup, on the Show Pig Circuit for his swine project and a Christmas tree shaped shelf for his woodworking project. Both received a blue ribbon.

During the Swine Show on July 12, Makayla got Grand Champion Market Hog with her pig, Greg, sponsored by New London Lions Club and Grand Champion Gilt, with her ham, sponsored by FCS Financial, Hannibal.

Austin had the Champion Boar sponsored by FBN, Vandalia, and Champion Pen of 3, sponsored by in memory of Bill, Becky, and Andy Leake of Center. Austin received Reserve Grand Champion in the Spot Gilt Class with his pig, Hot Chocolate.
